StitchTech Designs

     I have always wanted to own a business.  My parents tell of me being a little boy and saying that I will have my own company someday.  Well, now I do and it's StitchTech Designs.  I started out by looking to buy an existing company.  I learned a lot in this process, one being not to buy someone else's mess.  Part of the company that I was looking to buy was embroidery.  I had asked how much of their business was embroidery.  They had told me that there wasn't a lot of business in it, but their son wanted the machine.  What?  This didn't make any sense to me.  So I started asking around, my area, if anyone would need any embroidery done.  Every place I went to said, "Yes, let us know when you have your machine.  We need work done."  This started my redirection in starting my own embroidery business. 

     I purchased a Tajima 4 head machine in 1999.  I still remember the day it showed up in my driveway on the back of a flat bed tow truck.  Reality was starting to set in that this was really happening.  It wasn't a reality of fear, it was of excitement. 

     I did not have a job at that time.  This was a big driving force to make StitchTech Designs happen.  The technition came out to set up the machine and to give me the three days of training.  He took a day and a half to set the machine up.  He then proceeded to train me for about three hours.   He tells me, "I think you have this and you should save your last day in case you need it later."  I said ok, and watched him pack up his stuff.  Now with only three hours of training I'm off and running with the business.  That was pretty scary.  I still remember my first job.  I sat with my finger on the start button for an hour and a half before pushing it.  I was super nervous.  Everything turned out just fine.  I was able to pick everything up very fast.  Now with over 12 years of experience, there isn't too much that I haven't seen or done. 

     I take pride in my work and so does my employee.  We have been working together for over 5 years now.  We want to make sure that any embroidery that leaves the shop is something that we would be proud of.  In addition to my employee (Isabel), my parents (Bob and Jane) and my amazing wife (Whitney) help out tremendously.  We are all looking forward to meeting you soon.
